Mental health is affected by more than thoughts and emotions. Physical health, trauma, relationships, body image, identity, and major life changes can all influence how a person feels and functions.

At Afterglow Health, we provide compassionate mental and behavioral health care for individuals and couples. We help clients address high pressure performance, life stress and changes, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and adjustment to illness, injury, disability, or changes in the body.

Specialized Mental Health Services

Afterglow offers specialized support for people whose experiences may be overlooked in traditional healthcare settings, including:

These experiences can affect identity, independence, emotional well-being, relationships, and the ability to feel connected to the body.

When Mental Health Affects Intimacy

Anxiety, depression, trauma, pain, medical conditions, medications, and body image concerns can also affect intimacy and sexual wellness.

As part of our specialty services, Afterglow provides a safe and professional space to address concerns related to:

  • Intimacy and emotional connection

  • Sexual confidence and body image

  • Changes in desire or sexual functioning

  • Performance anxiety

  • Communication between partners

  • Adapting intimacy following illness, injury, or physical changes

Sexual wellness is never assumed to be the primary concern. It is addressed when it is important to the client’s mental health, relationships, or quality of life.

Our Approach

At Afterglow, we meet you where you are. Our care is:

  • Trauma-informed

  • Body-inclusive

  • Disability- and chronic illness-informed

  • Individualized to your needs

  • Respectful of all identities, abilities, body types, and lived experiences

We do not expect you to return to the person you were before an illness, injury, trauma, or life transition. Therapy can help you understand who you are now, rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful ways to move forward.

Care That Sees More Than a Diagnosis

You are more than your symptoms, medical history, disability, or body.

At Afterglow Behavioral & Sexual Health, we provide mental health care that recognizes the full person—including the parts of life that may feel difficult, private, or uncomfortable to discuss.

Healing begins with understanding. Growth begins with Afterglow.
